Biography:

Jesus Garcia is a Doctor of Nursing Practice graduate from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, specializing in Family Practice. Born in Lompoc, California, and raised in Midland, Texas, Jesus began his nursing career in 2014 on a medical oncology unit before advancing to emergency and critical care. His journey into advanced practice was shaped by personal hardships and a deep-rooted commitment to improving access to care for vulnerable populations.

While pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Jesus was honored with the Midland Memorial Hospital Community Action Award for his leadership and service to the local community. He is also a proud Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing member. He has remained committed to advocacy, education, and equity in healthcare.

During his doctoral studies, Jesus led a quality improvement project focused on implementing the MHI-5 mental health screening in a free standing emergency room to enhance detection and reduce missed opportunities for intervention.

Jesus will join Pecos County Memorial Hospital in Fort Stockton as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He credits his success to faith, perseverance, and the unwavering support of his family, especially his late mother, whose strength continues to inspire him.
