Certified Coder
JOB SUMMARY: Assigns ICD-10-CM codes and CPT 4 codes to inpatient and outpatient charts.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Associate degree in Health Information Management preferred. Certified Coding Associate or Certified Coding Specialist.

B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems. Knowledge of the MS-DRG System and APC System. Must be familiar with operating personal computers and have a knowledge of general clerical duties.

C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Certified Coding Specialist preferred.
