Chief Financial Officer - Administration
JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The CFO will oversee all financial aspects, including accounting, budgeting, accounts payable, payroll, materials management, patient accounting and revenue cycle management for the hospital, clinics, Home Health, Hospice, and Wellness Center. The CFO will be responsible for compiling and presenting financial reports and reporting overall financial performance monthly to the Hospital District Board of Directors. The CFO will oversee and complete reporting and intergovernmental transfers for State and Federal programs, to include: LoFTS, 340b, CHIRP, RAPPS, ATLIS, DSH and UC. The CFO will compile and submit the annual AHA survey and will coordinate annual external financial audits, and cost report filings. The CFO will also function as the Public Funds Investment Officer for the Hospital District.

Candidate Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of all aspects of Critical Access Hospital financial operations. The candidate should possess the skills to analyze and complete financial reports and budgets, Medicare cost reports, managed care contracts and internal/external audits, and have knowledge of coding and third-party regulations. The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution. (Master's degree preferred).

Personal Job-Related Skills: Demonstrate ability to learn and maintain appropriate technical skills to effectively support the electronic financial system. Display a thorough understanding of electronic financial systems. Display a thorough understanding of Microsoft Outlook Calendar, email, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, security encryption, keyboarding, and reporting. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Hospital District Board of Directors, staff and community.

Licensure, Registry or Certification: CPA preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ previous CFO level or equivalent experience is required in hospital or healthcare setting (Critical Access Hospital experience preferred). Must also have 3-5 years’ experience in leadership role.
